Last Day Reflections

1. What did you learn about photography that you did not know before?

I learn many new fun and interesting things about photography that I didn't know before I took photo. Some things that were new to me were the speed of the shutter and how that affects the kind of picture you want to take. I also learned how to use photoshop because before I even took photo, I really didn't have a clue on how to use photoshop. It is really a great tool to use for photography. I also had a fun time working with Photoshop. Another thing that I learned in photo, is how to print in the dark room, it was fun having to print them out from the chemicals and not just printing them off of a computer. I learned many new things this semester, things that can even be really little, such as how the lighting and shutter affects the pictures, to things like how to edit pictures on Photoshop. I will keep these thing in mind when I take pictures because I know all the new things that I learn will help me in the future.

2. What did you learn about yourself this semester?

In this semester, I learned that I may not be the best photographer, but everyone has their own style taking pictures. In photography, you have to be opened to many different point of views. I learned that what I may see as something that doesn't look too good, can be something that looks great to someone else. Also, I discovered that I was interested in photography, and that it is really interesting to me, but there are some types of projects that I had a more difficult time than others. That may be, because I may not be the best at some type of pictures, but I can take decent pictures of other types. This class helped me realize my strongest points in photography and my weakest points.

3. What do you wish we had done that we did not?

I wish that we would have done more pictures with the film, because I thought taking pictures with the film was pretty fun. It was fun because, as technology grows, we use less of the film cameras, that later many people won't even know how to use them. We are all used to having digital cameras, cameras on our phone, that we rarely even see any film cameras any more. I feel that we should have took more pictures with the film camera than the digital camera, but at the same time I understand why we used the digital cameras more. We were able to use photoshop with digital, and that helped me a lot.

4. What was your struggle?

I had many struggles throughout this semester. I struggled a lot, in the beginning, with photoshop. I had to learn how to use it and be able to use it right. There was also times that I struggled trying to print pictures in the dark room, especially the ones with the film because there was no light at all. After all, I would say that my biggest struggle was getting used to the photoshop and understanding how it works, but at the end, I would say that I got better after a while.

5. What did you conquer?

During this semester, I conquered many things. I was able to learn a lot of new useful material. I was able to learn the different styles of photography, such as tilt shifts and panoramas, I had fun being able to take different pictures. Also, I was able to look at pictures with a different perspective because in photography, all photographers have a different perspective at looking at pictures. The biggest thing that I would say that I conquered was on using Photoshop. I feel more comfortable using Photoshop now. Before I even took photo, I had no clue on how to use Photoshop. Then after struggling with it at first, I got the hang of it and I got better. Now, I can take pictures and edit them in Photoshop with the knowledge that I gain.

Blur

During the blur project, I had a difficult time trying to set up and get a good blur picture. I think it has been one of the hardest projects that we've had, well at least for me it was, you can kind of tell on some of my pictures that I struggled at times. After all, I think I got some good pictures, and it was a fun project. If I were to do it again, I would change settings, and do different things with my pictures. I would also try to get a better blur in my pictures, to improve them.
